Recently I attended the annual Arts in the Park Festival in Blue Ridge. The festival showcased local artists with their sculptures, paintings, photographs and much more. An amazing impressionist painter by the name of Larry Smith was one of the many talented artists featured in the show. He just opened a newly constructed art gallery in Norcross, Georgia. Check out his website to view or order some of his breathtaking oil paintings. www.artistlarrysmith.com

Creative Headboard Art

Posted in: Creative Juice  Posted by: Dina Pepperman

Are you sick and tired of seeing the same old headboard everyday? Spice up your bedroom by turning your favorite painting into a fresh and unique headboard. The painting serves as a focal point and enhances the dramatic feel of the space. Be sure to hang the large-scale painting high enough so pillows will not rest against it and light the painting properly. Check out HGTV for more great decorating and design ideas.

Posted in: Creative Juice  Posted by: Dina Pepperman

Many people are intimidated at the thought of using the color red to decorate their homes and work spaces. If used wisely, the color red can be inspiring in your living area as well as your office environment. The Home and Garden Television Network informs viewers on these 5 simple tips to bring a splash of red into your home without being overwhelming.

1. Accessorize with Red. Try adding a few pieces of red accessories to your space, such as a single piece of red artwork.

2. Paint the Front Door. Painting the front door red often adds curb appeal as well as personality to the entrance of your home.

3. Add Red Fabrics. Create energy with the color red by bringing in red accent pillows or love seats into a neutral space.

4. Light It Up With Red. Add red lampshades or pendants to your space to brighten up the room.

5. Put Red Underfoot. Not only does a red rug to define a space, but it also puts emphasis on subtly pointing out the red accessories around the room.
